Acupuncture is a form of medicine that originated in China and has been used successfully for thousands of years to enhance overall wellbeing while addressing a wide variety of health problems.
From a scientific standpoint, acupuncture can provide rapid pain relief by eliciting a release of endorphins and decreasing inflammation.
It also increases microcirculation throughout the whole body allowing your cells to receive more oxygen and vital nutrients while releasing more waste and toxins.
Another important benefit is the deep relaxation that acupuncture brings about along with a rebalancing of your nervous system..
All these effects of acupuncture help your body heal more rapidly and completely from injuries, illnesses and other patterns of disfunction.
Susan completed her 2094-hour post-graduate training in acupuncture from The New England School of Acupuncture in 1995.
She has taught Japanese acupuncture at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and in private workshops. Susan is licensed to practice acupuncture in both Connecticut and New York and is certified in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
She has extensive training in Japanese acupuncture from Kiiko Matsumoto, whose style is now taught worldwide including at Harvard Medical School.
Susan's interest in natural health comes from her belief and personal experience that nature knows best.
During her first career as a graphic artist when she was suffering from neck pain and stress, her grandma encouraged her to try acupuncture. The relief she felt from her first treatment sparked her curiosity and led her to study Taoism and eventually to enroll in acupuncture school several years later.
An avid nature-lover and artist, Susan loves exploring the outdoors and painting as well as spending time with family and friends.
